Welcome to Year Three

Dear Parents,
Welcome to Year 3! Its the Spring Term!
Here is some information about this term and life in Year 3. Remember to check our Class Dojo,  Facebook  feed or School Twitter for more up to date information.
Subjects
In RE, we are learning about We will be learning about the Liturgical year and the different feasts that we celebrate. We will then move on to a topic on the Eucharist and learn how Jesus gives himself to us. We will also learn about Islam, with a focus on the Mosque.​
In English we are learning about narrrative based on Stig Of The Dump. We will also study poetry
In Maths we are focusing on Multiplication and Division. We are trying really hard to learn our TIMES TABLES. We will move on to study measures.

P.E 
P.E. will take place on a  Tuesday and Wednesday  and your child is able to come to school wearing their PE/sports kits. They will need trainers and a jumper or cardigan. Reminder, no earrings please.
 
Water bottles  
Please ensure your child has a  named  water bottle in school. They will be able to fill up their water bottle as required throughout the school day.  
 
Homework 
Homework and spellings will be sent out on a Friday and due in the following Friday. Don't forget to learn the KIRFS!
 
Reading 
Reading is of high  importance  so we all need to listen to your child read as often as possible. The children will be able to change their books after they have finished and a parent has signed their reading record.  
 
All weather 
Please  could I remind all parents to send a coat into school every day. The weather is  unpredictable  and we are trying to keep the children playing outside as much as possible.

Spellings are tested weekly.
Times tables are really important and children are expected to know their 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 times tables by the end of Year 3. Please practise these with your child as often as possible.
Children are encouraged to behave well in class through consistent praise, stickers, dojos, raffle tickets, certificates and prizes.
