What's happening in Year 1

Hello and welcome to Year 1!

Just a little information...

 PE – Year One’s PE is on a Monday and a Thursday afternoon. If your child wears earrings please can they be taken out or a plaster brought into school to cover them as we are not allowed to remove them. Please can all children turn up to school on these days in full PE kit.

Reading books- The children will take home a reading bag every night with three books. We change books regularly throughout the week. Reading records are checked every day. Please sign in the reading record when you have heard your child read.  Look out for other letters and information that may also be sent home in your child's reading bag.

Homework- Homework will be given out every Tuesday and is due back on the following Monday at the latest. 

Spellings- Spellings will be posted on the website every Tuesday and a spelling test will be on the following Monday. 

Drinking bottles – Please can your child bring in a named drinking bottle with water for class. They are sent home each night to be cleaned and refreshed for the following day.
